(Patria) - The visit of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Mykolaiv was interrupted for security reasons.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told German media in a statement that Baerbock and her delegation, who went to the city of Mykolaiv to visit a drinking water treatment plant financed by Germany, were followed by a Russian drone.
The visit was interrupted and the delegation left the area in armored vehicles.
The statement said that the drone moved away from the area after some time.
German media reported that an air strike occurred on Mykolaiv after Baerbock left the region.
They stated that the German minister concluded her visit to Ukraine and returned to her homeland.
Baerbock was in Odesa yesterday to express support for Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
In a message posted on the X account of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was announced that aid for Ukraine's reconstruction will be increased by 100 million euros, to one billion euros.
It is understood that Germany also plans to hold a conference on the restructuring of Ukraine in Berlin in June.
