(Patria) – The European Union will adopt on Wednesday a pan-European approach to the use of mobile applications for tracking the spread of the coronavirus, a source from the European Commission told Reuters.
The application will consist of a setting for the use of collected anonymous data, which will be used to locate individuals who have been in contact with infected persons, as well as for tracking individuals in quarantine.
The same source states that, for the purpose of privacy protection, the processing of personal data will be limited, and the data will be destroyed once control over the pandemic is achieved.
