House of Representatives of BiH PA to discuss amendments to the Excise Law, SIPA, police officers...

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to discuss the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties in Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session, proposed by MP Saša Magazinović (SDP BiH).

The proposed law stipulates that in case of market disturbances or other justified reasons, the Council of Ministers of BiH may adopt a decision on the temporary suspension or reduction of the excise duty on petroleum products. The decision would be made for a period of a maximum of six months within one calendar year. The SNSD has already announced that they will not support this law.

The House of Representatives is also expected to consider the Bill on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, proposed by MPs Darko Babalj, Branislav Borenović, Mira Pekić, Nenad Grković, and Mladen Bosić, the adoption of which is one of the conditions for opening BiH's negotiations with the European Union.

At the session of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the House of Representatives in early March, the proposal of this law was removed from the agenda to allow for compliance with the conclusion of the House of Representatives regarding the aforementioned bill, in the part concerning the opinion of the Venice Commission.

MPs are also expected to consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination, proposed by MP Rejhana Dervišević, with a request for urgent procedure.

The proposed amendment stipulates that the words "disabled persons" be replaced with the words "persons with disabilities".

The law is proposed with the aim of removing discriminatory expressions used in the text of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination, and is based on the principles of respect for fundamental human rights and the principles of non-discrimination.

The principles of the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the State Investigation and Protection Agency, proposed by MP Jasmin Emrić, which amends the Law to ensure the continuity of leadership of that agency, should also be considered.

On the agenda are also: the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers of BiH, proposed by MPs Nihad Omerović, Jasmin Imamović, and Predrag Kojović, as well as the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest in Institutions at the Level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed by the Joint Committee on Administrative Affairs.

MP Rejhana Dervišević has proposed several legislative proposals that should be considered in the first reading (principles). These are: the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Labour in BiH Institutions, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Customs Policy of BiH, and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax.

One of the planned agenda items is the Reform Agenda, submitted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

The agenda also includes several reports on the work of certain bodies and institutions.
