House of Representatives of the FBiH: We were thin in the 90s and we defended ourselves, we will defend ourselves again

(Patria) - The third emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the FBiH continued today in Sarajevo, where the security situation in the larger BiH entity will be discussed, in connection with activities on the establishment of a reserve police unit of the RS.

Nermin Muzur, representative of the People and Justice party, says that in the Sarajevo Canton it is impossible to fill police forces, because the ranks of police officer and junior inspector are already filled, while higher ranks require time and education.

From the HDZ BiH, they stated that they will not support the formation of a reserve police unit, using as an argument the EUFOR statement that the formation of reserve units in the entities does not contribute to security.

“Yesterday a historic moment occurred, when EUFOR announced that it cannot ensure the Dayton peace in BiH and that it can only monitor, supervise and assist, but cannot intervene if a conflict arises. This is important and everyone missed it yesterday,” said Nihad Čolpa, representative of the DF-GS coalition in the House of Representatives.

To the remark by Sanela Prašović that she was waiting for a reaction from the international community to decide whether to vote for the House of Representatives session on security, Eldar Čomor reacted and stated that the international community had been waited for several times, but there was no reaction.

“We waited in the 90s, then we waited for Srebrenica, and I will say that we are constantly waiting for the OHR, and that institution has become mute,” said Čomor.

“We were thin in the 90s and we knew how to defend ourselves, we will know how again. I would now give the greatest police assistance to Tuzla, because they can react to Brčko, which is the only piece of BiH under the integrity of the state,” said Munib Jusufović, representative of the SBB in the House of Representatives during the discussion.
