Representatives from BiH at Scientific Conference in London

LONDON, (Patria) - The fifth joint scientific conference within the "Western Balkans Process" (Berlin Process) was held from May 28 to 30, 2019, at the Royal Society in Great Britain. Under the title "Fresh Expectations for Research and Education Across Europe," the joint scientific conference focused on two themes: "The Responsibility of Science for Society, Especially in Reconciliation and Peacebuilding" and "Communicating Science."

Recommendations from this conference will be included in the 6th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Western Balkans, which will be held on July 5, 2019, in Poznań, Poland. This conference was also an opportunity to discuss the latest achievements in education, research, and innovation in the Western Balkans and within the Berlin Process.

Representatives of national academies of sciences and arts, rectors' conferences, as well as prominent scientists participated in the conference organized by the Royal Society of Great Britain and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. The University of Sarajevo was represented at the conference by Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, as well as Prof. Dr. Adnan Efendić. Participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina included: President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH Prof. Dr. Miloš Trifković, Vice-Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Dr. Goran Latinović, and doctoral student at the University Clinical Center Tuzla Amra Šakušić. Prof. Dr. Vesna Bojičić-Dželilović from LSE and Asst. Prof. Dr. Adnan Mehonić from UCL also attended the event.
