SDP BiH Presidency confirms five candidates for president

At today's session of the Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, members reviewed the report of the Central Election Commission of SDP BiH on the fulfilled conditions for candidacies for president of SDP BiH and confirmed that five candidates have met all conditions: Emir Đikić, Jasmin Imamović, Miro Lazović, Nermin Nikšić, and Svetozar Pudarić, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Based on the Rulebook on holding intra-party elections for president of SDP BiH, and with the aim of ensuring equal conditions for the presentation of all candidates for party president, the members of the Presidency adopted a Decision on the rules of presentation and debate for candidates for president of SDP BiH. Thus, by September 20, the day of the presidential elections, 12 debates will be held in all cantonal and regional organizations of SDP BiH, where all candidates will have the opportunity to equally present their programs and answer questions from gathered members.

The members of the Presidency condemned the recently proposed coordination mechanism, which represents yet another attempt to undermine state competencies, all with the aim of strengthening the cantons and their powers, which ultimately leads to the possibility of blocking the European path of our country. The members called on the executive authorities at all levels, and especially the Council of Ministers of BiH, not to allow an evident violation of the Constitution of BiH, because foreign policy, which includes negotiations with the European Union, is an exclusive competence of the state.

The Presidency of SDP BiH also discussed the issue of loans of BiH citizens in Swiss francs and adopted a conclusion that in the coming days a meeting will be organized with representatives of associations and citizens affected by this issue. At the meeting, a joint model for solving this problem and future actions of SDP BiH in legislative bodies on this matter will be agreed upon.
