BiH Presidency adopts 2025 Budget Proposal, to be forwarded to BiH Parliamentary Assembly for consideration

(Patria) - The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held an emergency session today, unanimously adopting the Proposal for the Law on the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2025, confirmed for Patria.

The budget was presented by the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Srđan Amidžić, who requested a pause. This concerns the Draft that the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted on the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH on November 4. The planned budget does not include increases in funds for the Armed Forces of BiH, cultural institutions of national importance, and BHRT, which is why the earlier proposal was rejected in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

The budget for 2025 amounts to 1.5 billion BAM.

The budget includes a one-time assistance of 1,000 BAM for employees in BiH institutions, with the exception of elected and appointed officials, to mitigate the damage caused by the lack of salary increases in 2025 due to temporary financing, despite the increase in the base for 2025.

The Presidency of BiH now sends the Budget to the parliamentary procedure, where it must be adopted in identical form to enter into force.
