The cabinet of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić is unpleasantly surprised by the conditions that should be met if he wishes to visit Zagreb, Blic learns, reports the Patria News Agency.
Instead of an invitation for an official visit to Zagreb, which they had already discussed, Kolinda sent five conditions that Serbia should meet.
She is asking Serbia to resolve the issue of missing persons from the war, return property, cultural treasures, and archival material, and resolve the issue of the border on the Danube. Nikolić himself did not want to comment on the new situation. Unofficially, it is learned that Serbia will do nothing that could worsen relations with Croatia, and they have all experienced this as a slap in the face.
"Setting conditions for the meeting between Nikolić and Grabar Kitarović is a slap in the face from the Croatian side and a return of a non-diplomatic gesture to Nikolić. When Vučić was at the inauguration of the Croatian president, she accepted his offer to come to Belgrade. Nikolić, however, said it was his turn to go to Zagreb. Serbia also has conditions for them, but contentious issues are resolved primarily at the intergovernmental level," said Aleksandar Popov, director of the Center for Regionalism.
