(Patria) - Colombian President Gustavo Petro has ordered the Colombian public security forces to suspend the exchange of intelligence data with US intelligence agencies until Washington stops attacking ships in the Caribbean, Reuters reported.
"The fight against drugs must be subordinate to the human rights of the Caribbean population," Petro said in a post on the social network X, referring to the history of cooperation between the two countries in the fight against drug trafficking.
This is a continuation of the poor relations between President Petro and his American counterpart, Donald Trump, who recently imposed sanctions on his Colombian counterpart.
