BiH Attorney's Office challenges decision on purchase of building for UIO in Banja Luka

(Patria) - The Attorney's Office of BiH, as the legal representative of BiH institutions in the protection of property and property interests, informed the public that, starting from the position of protecting the public interest, it has taken legal steps within its competence with the aim of challenging the Decision on the selection of the most favorable bidder in the procedure of collecting bids for the purchase of an existing building in the area of Banja Luka.

The Attorney's Office of BiH reminds that the building is intended for the accommodation of employees and accompanying equipment of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) of BiH, for the Main Office and the seat of the Regional Center Banja Luka.

They also state that they have not previously announced the activities undertaken, as the procedure is ongoing, and add that they believe this could affect the procedure, the rights and obligations of the parties, and jeopardize the public interest.

"That would constitute unprofessional and illegal conduct. However, given the increased public interest in the procedure, the Attorney's Office of BiH, with the aim of objective information, emphasizes that the procedure of challenging the Decision on the selection of the most favorable bidder is ongoing.

The Attorney's Office of BiH has filed an appeal and is awaiting the decision of the competent Office for the Review of Appeals. Until a decision is made, the Attorney's Office will not comment on the content of the procedure, in accordance with the principles of legality and professional responsibility," they stated from the Attorney's Office.

They add that legal steps will depend on the outcome of the appeals procedure and will be aimed exclusively at protecting the property and property interests of BiH.

"The Attorney's Office remains consistent in its commitment to preserving institutional integrity, legality of conduct, and protection of the public interest," the statement from the Attorney's Office adds.
