Fire at Ponijeri near Kakanj: Help from BiH Armed Forces helicopters also requested here

(Patria) - The Kakanj Civil Protection today requested that helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina be included in extinguishing the fire at the Ponijera site.

The Director of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Džavid Aličić, notes that the fire has been active for a week, but that it has intensified in the last two to three days, so the authorities in Kakanj decided to request assistance.

The fire broke out between Zavidovići and Kakanj, and until two to three days ago, workers of the Forestry Company of the ZDC managed to keep it under control.

However, due to high temperatures, it spread to low vegetation, raising concerns that it might spread towards Brnjica.

The request has been submitted, and they are now awaiting a response. We remind you that BiH Armed Forces helicopters are also engaged in extinguishing the fire on Zelengora.
