(Patria) - The fire that broke out on Thursday evening at 19:55 in the area of Vrtaljica, northeast of Konjic, is still active, the Konjic Professional Fire Brigade announced.
A pine forest is burning in the Vrtaljica area, but the fire currently does not threaten buildings or the population.
All available personnel are on the ground, and the fire poses a serious threat to the forest ecosystem and surrounding settlements.
Vrtaljica is a well-known picnic area that, after the construction of an educational trail and lookout point, has become an unavoidable nature and excursion destination for both the residents of Konjic and their guests.
