(Patria) - At tomorrow's session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, if it is held, the agenda also includes the Proposal of the Decision on Amending the Decision on Appointing Members of the Committee for Appeals of Police Officers at the proposal of the Ministry of Security of BiH. This Committee is responsible for making decisions on appeals filed by police officers against decisions made by BiH police bodies regarding the status of a police officer or in cases of failure by a police body to make a decision regarding the status of a police officer.
However, this item, as Patria has learned, should be withdrawn from the agenda. This concerns the proposal of the dismissed Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić, who planned to appoint Ljubomir Kuravica as the President of the Committee to the vacant position after the retirement of Samir Rizvo. Nešić has been in custody since the end of December on suspicion of corruption and abuse of official position, as well as association for the commission of criminal offenses while he was the director of Putevi RS.
If this were to happen, the ratio in the Committee would be three Serbs, two Bosniaks, and two Croats.
The remaining members of the Committee are Veljko Lazić (Border Police of BiH), Ljubiša Pandurević (SIPA), Edin Memić (SIPA), Samir Mirvić (DKPT), Željko Bogut (Ministry of Justice of BiH), and Lidija Markota (Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH).
Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Security, Ivica Bošnjak, should request the withdrawal of this item from the agenda, make a new proposal, and propose a candidate from among the Bosniaks from the Ministry of Security of BiH to be the president.
Regarding the appointment of the Commission for Resolving Appeals in the Security Vetting Procedure, which is also a proposal from the Ministry of Security of BiH, the proposed members are Jelena Savić from the Ministry of Security, Srđan Pavlović (SIPA), a member of OSA whose name we know but will not disclose for protection, but he is a Bosniak, Mustafa Dautović from the Ministry of Defense, and Boris Jukić from the Ministry of Justice. This is also an extremely important Commission, as the careers of police officers depend on its decisions in cases of revocation of security clearances.
Regarding Srđan Pavlović, he is a friend of Nenad Nešić, whom he appointed to the Joint Management Board for Lawful Interception of Telecommunications and the Manner of Execution of Activities at the end of December 2023 by dismissing another member before the end of his term.
Nešić publicly confirmed at the time that Pavlović was his friend and that they had worked together in the MUP RS and that he would always appoint his friends.
This item should also be withdrawn from the agenda.
