SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The International Olympic Committee has decided to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games due to the coronavirus pandemic, IOC member Dick Pound told USA Today.
Thus, the pressure from numerous Olympic committees, sports federations, and athletes has paid off.
"Based on the data the International Olympic Committee has, the decision on postponement has been made," the American magazine quoted Pound.
"The Games will not start on July 24," Pound added.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games are expected to be held next year, and details will be worked out in the next four weeks.
