Indictment against Kraljević confirmed for glorifying war criminals

(Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed the indictment against Miroslav Kraljević, known as Mićo, the mayor of Vlasenica municipality, for inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance, it was confirmed by the State Prosecutor's Office.

The Prosecutor's Office stated that Kraljević, in his capacity as mayor, gave a statement to the media on March 9, 2025, in which he glorified individuals who have been finally convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.

In March last year, at a gathering marking the 32nd anniversary of the death of soldiers from Derventa on the Vlasenica battlefield, which Detektor reported on earlier, Kraljević expressed great respect for Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, stating that they are “glorious names that should be mentioned”.

“Because that is us, that is our reality. We are all Radovans. Just as today we are all Mile Dodik, all the National Assembly, and in the same or similar way, we defend those achievements,” Kraljević said at the time.

A court proceeding is underway against Kraljević, along with Radenko Stanić and Goran Garić, for the persecution of Bosniak civilians in Vlasenica – through unlawful detention, killings, sexual abuse, torture, disappearances, and other inhumane acts committed in 1992 and 1993. The indictment against them was confirmed in February 2018, and their trial, after several postponements, began in October 2019.
