(Patria) - At the headquarters of Hrvatske ceste in Zagreb, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Saša Dalipagić and the President of the Management Board of Hrvatske ceste Josip Škorić, on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina and
the Republic of Croatia, together with Dragomir Jevtović, on behalf of the Consortium of economic entities: Integral Inženjering and Zagreb-Montaža as the most favorable bidder, signed the Contract for the construction of an international bridge between the two neighboring and friendly countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, on the Sava River near Gradiška at the end of the Banja Luka – Gradiška highway.
The bridge is 426 meters long, 22.6 meters wide, and will have four traffic lanes, two in each direction. It will be built under the Contract within 30 months from the date of the contractor's introduction to the work, and the deadline for
introducing the contractor is 105 days from the date of signing the Contract.
The contractual value of the works is 23,498,800 euros. As Deputy Dalipagić stated, the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, signed back in 2011, defined that each country bears half of that amount. Bosnia and Herzegovina secured its share of the funds partly from UMTS funds, i.e., from payments by telecom operators, and partly from a non-repayable grant in the amount of 6.8 million euros, obtained from the WBIF (Western Balkans Investment Framework) at the summit of Western Balkan countries held in Vienna in 2015.
Deputy Dalipagić stated that he is extremely satisfied that the Ministry he leads, in cooperation with Croatia, has succeeded in the last two and a half years in launching two extremely large and significant infrastructure projects, namely the construction of two bridges on the Sava River. As is known, the bridge near Svilaj at the end of Corridor Vc is in the final phase of construction and will be opened to traffic by the end of this year. The Ministry also managed to complete the tender procedure for the construction of the bridge near Gradiška. With the completion of these two structures, the traffic connectivity between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, i.e., Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU, will be significantly improved.
