(Patria) - The Mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality, Semir Efendić, and the director of the company Mibral d.o.o. Sarajevo, Maja Bralović Smith, signed a framework agreement for the construction of the "Briješće brdo" pumping station (hydroflex facility) for Kralja Stjepana Tomaševića Street in Briješće.
The value of the project is close to 500,000 KM, and it is being implemented with the aim of improving the water supply to residential buildings located in the water supply zone of the "Vitkovac" reservoir.
Efendić stated that this is about solving the water supply for a part of the Novi Grad municipality that had major problems with water levels.
The local community "Briješće", Kralja Stjepana Tomaševića Street, is located at an altitude that is above or level with the Vitkovac reservoir, so natural gravity was a major problem.
- For this reason, we have proceeded to find a technical solution with a so-called hydroflex pumping facility. And today we are signing an agreement for the construction of this facility.
Before that, we completed the construction of a new primary water supply network in that part, and for all of this to be functional, it is necessary to build this facility.
We had a multi-year process of resolving property-legal relations while we purchased the land on which it will be located.
Now the preconditions have been created for signing this agreement, worth almost 500,000 convertible marks - said Mayor Efendić.
He added that the Municipality is trying to solve the water supply in all its parts where the water supply is not adequately resolved.
- Funds have been allocated from the budget, the contractor has been selected, and today we are signing this agreement, after which the procurement and construction of this hydroflex facility will commence, with the construction of which the water problem for a part of the Briješće settlement will be resolved.
Ultimately, about 100 facilities will be covered by the capacity of this facility.
Residents of this part of the Briješće settlement had many problems, they privately bought some kind of improvised pumps that they connected to their connections, which caused problems, when some turned them on, others had no water.
They were very often without water, especially in the summer months when the water level in the Vitkovac reservoir drops, and then these problems become pronounced - stated Efendić.
He also pointed out that a similar public procurement procedure was carried out for the purchase of pumps in Derviša Sulje Vražalice Street, which will serve the residents of the upper part of the MZ "Dolac" settlement.
The director of the company Mibral, Maja Bralović Smith, expressed her satisfaction that this company is participating in solving this problem, and added that after today's signing of the agreement, they will proceed to define what they will start with in the first phase of the works.
- The construction part of the works, i.e., the construction of the facility containing the pumps and accompanying infrastructure, as well as the hydromechanical works, is a bit complex. The access road and electrical works are a significant part of this project, so that everything functions properly.
Given the size of the facility, the works will be carried out in several phases. With good planning, everything will be realized on time - said Bralović Smith.
