Potential of the diaspora has not been utilized for the development of BiH

The Bosnian diaspora is one of the most significant resources that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina possesses. Due to unfavorable constitutional and political solutions, the potential that the diaspora possesses has never been utilized for the development and promotion of the country. To achieve this, it is necessary to open a new dialogue with associations, clubs, and individual interested citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world, in order to give them the opportunity to contribute to the country's development, reports the Patria News Agency.

These issues will be the key topics of the international conference Diaspora – Obstacles and Opportunities for Cooperation and Support for the Development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees at the Sunce Hotel in Vogosca, on December 26, 2014, starting at 11 AM.

The organizers of the conference are the Center for Local Development and Diaspora - CLRD/CLDD of Bosnia and Herzegovina, CLDD International from Sweden, and the Association for Peace, Education and Creativity CMOK, BiH.

According to Sefika Muratagic, director of the Center for Local Development and Diaspora CLRD/CLDD, the conference should contribute to establishing a favorable environment for BiH citizens from the diaspora who are willing to cooperate with organizations and institutions in BiH to promote and proactively support the country's development in relevant areas of transition and socio-economic progress at all institutional and social levels.

-Conference participants will try to identify opportunities and conditions for partnership and the creation of joint projects, involving relevant BiH associations and individuals in the diaspora and BiH, with the aim of supporting the economic development process of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Muratagic.

Participants of the conference are relevant individuals and representatives of associations from the diaspora and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives of BiH institutions, it was announced from the Bosnian Media Group.
