Agreement reached: Serbia lifts ban on gunpowder exports, Igman continues production

(Patria) - After a multi-day halt in operations due to the suspension of gunpowder deliveries from Serbia, production at the military industry factory Igman d.d. Konjic is expected to normalize soon.

As announced by the company, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, in a direct conversation with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, reached an agreement on lifting the ban on gunpowder exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina, within 48 hours.

"This will enable the continuation of regular deliveries of the key raw material for our production, which is of exceptional importance for the realization of existing contractual obligations and the preservation of business stability," stated Igman.

Due to the earlier suspension of deliveries, the company was forced to send most employees on their remaining annual leave to reduce costs under extraordinary circumstances.

The Konjic factory especially thanked Prime Minister Nikšić and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their swift response and diplomatic engagement, emphasizing that the goal of the new management will be production stability and preventing similar halts in the future.

"We are working on diversifying the supply of raw materials and are conducting negotiations with alternative gunpowder producers in Europe and beyond," Igman stated.

Workers will be timely informed about the return to regular production activities through internal communication channels.
