AGREEMENT REACHED Truckers to end blockades, traffic normalization expected

(Patria) - Following an agreement, the withdrawal of all vehicles that participated in the protests is expected, and traffic normalization is anticipated, BIHAMK announced.

BIHAMK asks all traffic participants to respect the instructions of the authorized personnel on the ground.

The Unified Decision of the Presidency of the Plenum is to establish supply chains. We succeeded. The bloodstream of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy is at full capacity.

The Logistics Consortium of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks the Association of Road Carriers of RS, the Association of Carriers of FBiH, and the Management Board of Carriers of STK BiH for their support.

We thank all citizens for their patience and support. Every individual is our strength. We are continuing with supply chains for the benefit of all citizens of BiH - said Velibor Peulić, the main coordinator of the Logistics Consortium of BiH, after the decision to end the blockades.

The road blockades began yesterday morning, and the truck carriers demanded a 50 percent reduction in excise duties on fuel and tolls for trucks, emphasizing that such a practice exists in Montenegro and Slovenia, whose numerous companies transport goods to BiH.

Among other things, they also demanded changes to the state regulation issued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of BiH, according to which driver training is currently conducted in centers of excellence and costs 1,400 KM per driver.

Truck carriers also requested that training be conducted within transport companies, which is the practice in Slovenia and other European Union countries.

The fact that BiH does not recognize documents confirming that a driver from our country has undergone such training abroad also presents a problem.

Additionally, in BiH, a young driver who obtains a truck driving license at the age of 18 must wait three years before starting work, while in Germany they can drive immediately under supervision.
