MPs of the PFBiH House of Representatives vote on the Budget Proposal worth 8.2 billion KM

(Patria) - Members of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are expected to vote today on the Budget Proposal for 2025, which amounts to 8,248,547,700 KM.

By submitting 41 amendments, MPs concluded the debate on the Budget Proposal yesterday at an emergency session, and the Government of the Federation of BiH stated that it would respond to the submitted amendments by 9:00 AM today.

During the debate, the opposition claimed that the FBiH Government is acting arrogantly by giving MPs a short deadline to review the budget and that they do not see substantive solutions for pensioners and oncology patients.

They also called for the adoption of the law on forests to address the massive leakage of money. They claim they see no reason why the budget was not proposed through regular procedure and expect that fiscal reform will finally be completed.

Total revenues and expenditures of the Budget Proposal for 2025 amount to 8,248,547,700 KM, representing an increase of 773.7 million or 10 percent compared to the previous year.

Regarding the state of public debt in the Federation of BiH, according to available data, the total debt in the Federation of BiH as of December 31, 2023, amounts to 6,593.46 million KM, an increase of 118.45 million KM or 1.8 percent compared to 2022.

External debt in the Federation of BiH as of December 31, 2022, amounts to 5,166.67 million KM, a decrease of 243.82 million KM or 4.51 percent compared to 2022.
