MPs do not want the Public Broadcasting Service Act under urgent procedure

At the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA, Mirsad Mešić's proposal for amendments to the Law on the Public RTV System of BiH is being considered, and he called on MPs to support this proposal, writes the Patria news agency.

- I call on you to act responsibly towards this proposal - said Mešić.

Aleksandra Pandurević (SDS) said that she would not support the urgent procedure, as there had been enough time to resolve this issue.

 - I think we should reject this and ask the Council of Ministers to propose a new law. 70 new people who do nothing are employed at RTRS - said Pandurević.

Borjana Krišto (HDZ BiH) said that she had reviewed the amendments to the Law under urgent procedure, but that she supported everything Pandurević said, and reminded that there were obligations to amend the law earlier.

- The Council of Ministers was also obliged to propose amendments to this law, so I am surprised that the SDP MP, whose minister held the position directly responsible for this, did not propose the law. Today we have a proposal from the opposition. I do not want to comment on anything else, except to note what kind of system this is. We will not support the urgent procedure or this proposal. Let the Council of Ministers consider the situation and propose an adequate law - said Krišto.

Mešić said that the Ministry of Transport and Communications had proposed the law a year ago, but it never made it to the agenda.

- We are all responsible, but in SDP we have huge objections to the functioning of the Public RTV System, but it does not occur to us to jeopardize the financing of this system - said Mešić.
