Destroyed Mosques Bear Witness to the Bloody Aggression on BiH

A monograph on mosques destroyed during the aggression on BiH, to be published by the "Memorial Fund" in cooperation with the Center for Islamic Architecture from Sarajevo, is currently being translated into Turkish, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

As confirmed for NAP by Suad Zijadić, Assistant Director of the "Memorial Fund", the monograph on destroyed mosques in BiH is a historical document that will irrefutably bear witness that BiH was subjected to aggression from '92 to '95.
The documented book will best serve historians studying the history of BiH, especially its recent past.

- The material for this monograph was collected for three full years - Zijadić told NAP.

- This is a very extensive monograph. The team of people who collected the material for the monograph visited every destroyed mosque in BiH and photographed the site. Some mosques were visited even twice.

More than 600 mosques were destroyed during the aggression on BiH, and more than 300 were damaged. Some have been renovated, while others are still awaiting renovation.

- The monograph will be printed in three volumes. In addition to Bosnian, the monograph has been translated into English, and a translation into Turkish is currently underway - said Zijadić.

The monograph on destroyed mosques in BiH should see the light of day by the end of this year.
