'Merhamet' distributes emergency packages to families in Gaza, begins meal preparation

(Patria) - The Muslim charitable society 'Merhamet', in cooperation with its partner organization IHH, has distributed emergency packages to vulnerable families in Gaza. With that organization, 'Merhamet' also arranged meal preparation for the next month, and the campaign was supported by 'Merhamet' Sweden, which began collecting aid for the population of Gaza.

Meals will be prepared in the kitchen of the IHH organization in Gaza, and then distributed to vulnerable citizens in that area.

"Incidentally, 'Merhamet' and IHH have also organized meal preparation for the population of Gaza over the past two years. So we have experience in this. This is emergency aid for the population of Gaza affected by Israeli military operations. And 'Merhamet' has launched a major aid collection campaign for Gaza that will last until mid-January. The response is very good, because the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and our diaspora have an emotional relationship with the Palestinians and sympathize with their decades of suffering and sacrifice," said Kenan Vrbanjac, president of the Muslim charitable society 'Merhamet'.

Following the humanitarian crisis caused by Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, the Board of Directors of the Muslim charitable society 'Merhamet' made a decision to launch a humanitarian campaign 'Aid to the people of Gaza'. The campaign, which will last until January 16, 2024, will be carried out by collecting monetary funds in all organizational units of HO 'Merhamet' MDD in the country and abroad.
