(Patria) - The women's junior national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated today in Bulgaria by the Greek national team in the fight for third place at the European Championship B Division with a score of 68 - 44.
The first quarter was decisive, which our basketball players lost 21 – 6. By the end, our basketball players played better, but there was no comeback.
For the Greeks, Lydia Chatira and Angeliki Ziaka each scored 18 points, and Freideriki Blithikioti added 10. The only double-digit scorer for our team was Jana Guska with 11 points, while Adna Halilbašić and Ana Leko each scored eight points.
Incidentally, today's match had no major significance for the standings, given that FIBA decided last night that the third-placed team would not advance to the A Division. The rule change just before the end of the tournament surprised many and is completely unusual.
Our basketball players played well in this tournament and were defeated yesterday in the fight for the final by the Luxembourg team, after a tense finish and a chance to secure victory in the final attack.
