Rising water levels and snowfall complicate life in Tuzla Canton

(Patria) - Problems were recorded in several locations in Tuzla Canton today due to a combination of snow and rain, according to data from the Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ).

In the Municipality of Banovići, local and main roads, especially at the Marino Brdo location, are blocked due to a number of jackknifed semi-trailers. Despite the standstill, electricity and water supply are normal.

In Čelić, river and stream water levels are rising, and traffic is difficult but passable. Electricity and water are normal.

The situation in Doboj Istok and Gračanica is more complex. The Spreča River has flooded about 15 hectares of agricultural land in these two towns. In Doboj Istok, the electricity supply has been interrupted in the local communities of Klokotnica and Stanić Rijeka, while in Gračanica, power outages occurred in the local communities of Babići, Soko, Donja Orhovica, and Škrići.

In Gradačac, civil protection teams are active in the field. Traffic has been suspended on the Ormanica – Gradačac road due to flooding, and power outages have been recorded in several local communities.

Kladanj and Lukavac are experiencing a slight rise in water levels, but without major floods. Roads are mostly passable, although power outages occurred in the local community of Puračić in Lukavac.

In Srebrenik, civil protection teams had the most work. Over 250 dunams of agricultural land, one residential building, and one auxiliary building in Ormanica have been flooded. In the higher areas, in Tinja and Podorašje, the snow cover exceeded 50 cm, and there were also interruptions in the electricity supply.

In Teočak and Živinice, local stream water levels are rising, and power outages have occurred in some local communities. Road communication and water supply are currently normal.

In Tuzla, JKP "Rad" teams are removing trees from roads, and electricity supply is interrupted in several local communities.

So far, no local self-government unit has decided to declare a state of natural disaster, although relevant services remain in the field and monitor the situation.
