Foreigners in a frenzy for stone houses in Trebinje

Recently, there has been a real frenzy for old stone houses in Trebinje, with investors from Western Europe showing the most interest, reports the Patria news agency.

Real estate agents say that ruins are being bought this summer mostly by Czechs, who purchased several old houses in the suburban settlement of Pridvorci during August alone and, according to announcements, will continue to invest.

The owner and director of the agency "Tviko", Vaso Milić, specifies that a few days ago they sold three old houses to a Czech couple, who are also looking for a fourth, which they plan to renovate and initially rent out to their friends.

Milić, however, states that the Czechs plan to engage in ethno-tourism and that a large number of them are interested in this type of purchase, especially since they have found understanding at the Urban Planning Department of the City of Trebinje, where they completed all the documents in about twenty days.

He claims that foreign buyers are most interested in locations around Trebinje, and the main reason for Europeans' interest in this part of Republika Srpska is, he believes, the proximity of Dubrovnik and Herceg Novi, as well as the healthy climate and water.

Milić also claims that, given the high interest in purchasing, the capital turnover of this type in Trebinje would be in the millions every year if Bosnia and Herzegovina had signed a trade agreement with European countries, which hinders the arrival of investors, BNTV reported.
