Poland: Procedures initiated to ban Dodik from entering the country

(Patria) - Poland has initiated a procedure to impose a ban on entry and transit through the country for the president of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, confirmed on May 13 for Radio Free Europe (RFE) from the Polish Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The procedure was initiated due to Dodik's "serious violation of the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is recognized as a subject of international law," the Embassy stated.

The Embassy noted that the initiator is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, and that a detailed explanation of the decision will be published after the procedure is completed and the ban comes into effect.

The RS authorities, led by Dodik, have initiated the adoption of a series of unconstitutional decisions and laws, which is why the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is conducting an investigation against the leadership of that entity and has issued a warrant for their arrest.

Dodik, along with Nenad Stevandić and Radovan Višković, the Speaker of the Assembly and the Prime Minister of the RS, are suspected of attacking the constitutional order.

A central arrest warrant was issued for them in March, as they did not respond to the summons for questioning by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
