Gaza Strip: Around 180 women give birth every day in inhumane conditions

(Patria) - The Palestine Red Crescent announced that 180 women in Gaza give birth daily in dangerous and inhumane conditions due to Israeli attacks and occupation.

It is stated that many of these women cannot reach hospitals because Israeli forces are blocking ambulances.

To draw attention to the seriousness of the situation, the Red Crescent shared a phone conversation on social media between medical teams and the family of a pregnant woman in the Gaza Strip who did not reach the hospital in time to give birth.

According to the audio recording, one of the Red Crescent doctors, who spoke with the mother's sister, tried to help her family by providing instructions to enable the woman to have a safe home birth.

Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Dominic Allen announced that around 18,000 births have been recorded in Gaza in the last 100 days and that UNFPA has not been able to provide the necessary services, and the situation in the hospital is very bad.

More than 23,800 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, while more than 60,000 have been injured. Israeli authorities claim that around 1,200 Israelis were killed in Hamas attacks.
