Increased Traffic for Kurban Bayram: Roadworks on Several Sections and Potential Longer Waits at Borders

(Patria) - Increased traffic intensity is expected during the day due to the observance of Kurban Bayram, and driving conditions are favorable this morning. Traffic is moving on dry roads with good visibility.

On the main roads Dobro Polje–Miljevina, Tuzla–Bijeljina, and Jablanica–Blidinje, traffic is permitted for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for heavier vehicles remains suspended.

Due to road repair works, a three-kilometer section of the A-1 highway Kakanj–Lašva is closed, and vehicles are being rerouted in both directions on the opposite side of the highway.

On sections of the A-1 highway Sarajevo sjever–Podlugovi, Sarajevo zapad–Lepenica, and Bijača–Počitelj, including the Hercegovina bridge, traffic is diverted to the passing lane due to roadworks.

Roadworks are also underway on the main road M-5 near the Izačić–Bihać border crossing, where a bridge over the Mrižnica stream is being reconstructed, so vehicles are being allowed through alternately via a temporary bypass.

Due to a sports event, traffic will be suspended for all vehicles except buses on the Karanovac–Krupa na Vrbasu section today from 10 AM to 4 PM. Alternative routes are Banja Luka–Čađavica–Mrkonjić Grad and Crna Rijeka–Mrkonjić Grad.

At border crossings, delays for passenger vehicles currently range from 10 to 30 minutes, while longer waits are possible due to the new entry and exit registration system for European Union countries (EES).

The new Gradiška border crossing has been temporarily opened for traffic of all categories of motor vehicles.

In observance of Kurban Bayram, the transport of explosives is prohibited in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina today and tomorrow.
