(Patria) - It has been 31 years since the death of Adil Bešić, a hero of the defensive-liberation war.
On this occasion, the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Memorial Fund produced a new video from the series "Documentary Memory".
The video tells the story of Adil Bešić, a native of Banja Luka who grew up in Prijedor.
He graduated from the Military Academy and served in Slovenia. He was a man of calm character, great heart, and honesty.
As the commander of the Second Bihać/502nd Glorious Mountain Brigade, he died on November 28, 1992, in the Grabež area, defending his homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For his bravery and exceptional merits, he was posthumously awarded the war recognition "Golden Lily" and the Order of the Hero of the Liberation War, and a battalion and barracks in Bihać bear his name.
The Sarajevo Canton Memorial Fund in Bihać organized an exhibition on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of this hero's death, and the same exhibition found its permanent place in Prijedor, the city where Major Bešić grew up.
The video is part of a project aimed at documenting significant dates, events, and personalities from the period 1992-1995 and is available on the YouTube channel and the website of the KS Memorial Fund.
Also, on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the BiH hero, an exhibition titled "Adil Bešić - Hero of the Liberation War", authored by Belma Ćuzović, curator of the KS Memorial Fund, was opened today at the premises of the Kovači Multimedia Center.
The central part of the exhibition consists of 16 panels with photographs, reproductions of documents, and texts that thoroughly depict the life and war path of Adil Bešić.
Author Ćuzović emphasizes the exceptional importance of the exhibition in preserving the memory of Adil Bešić's heroism.
