Watch a short documentary about hero Zaim Imamović, who died exactly 28 years ago

(Patria) - 28 years ago, on October 9, just before the end of the war, legendary commander Zaim Imamović died at the age of 34 in the Treskavica mountain area.

On the anniversary of his death, the Public Institution "Memorial Fund of Sarajevo Canton" produced a new video from the series "Documentary Memory".

The video shows the life journey of the commander of the 14th Division, a symbol of the heroic defense of Goražde, Zaim Imamović.

The Memorial Fund's project "Documentary Memory" aims to screen 111 significant dates, events, and personalities from the period of the defensive-liberation war 1992-1995.

The goal of the project is to bring key events and personalities from recent history closer to younger generations, as well as to everyone else, through short, informative video content.

Imamović was born on April 22, 1961, in the village of Poratak near Ilovača, about fifteen kilometers from Goražde.

He completed his officer career in the JNA with the rank of first-class captain, which he left on April 8, 1992, when he joined the Territorial Defense.

He died on the Treskavica peak Čelina, on October 9, 1995, just above the Rogoj pass.

Zaim Imamović's grave is located in the courtyard of the Ali Pasha Mosque, and he was posthumously awarded the highest wartime recognition "Golden Lily".

In his honor, the barracks of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Pazarić is named Zaim Imamović.
