An indictment has been filed against 10 individuals for the war crime in Štrpci. This indictment is the result of intensive and good cooperation between the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office of Serbia, based on the Protocol on Cooperation, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
The Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against 10 individuals, members of the VRS from the area of Višegrad, for the war crime committed against passengers abducted at the station Štrpci in BiH, from a train traveling on the Belgrade-Bar line, on February 27, 1993.
As stated in the indictment, after the train was stopped, 20 victims were abducted, 18 Bosniak nationals, mostly from the Sandžak region, citizens of Serbia and Montenegro, one person of Croatian nationality, and one person of Arab origin.
After the abduction, the victims were taken to a school in Prelovo near Višegrad, where they were tortured, abused, and robbed, and after that, with visible injuries, the victims were transported to the village of Mušići where they were killed and their bodies were thrown into the Drina River.
After the war, the remains of 4 victims were found and identified, while the remains of the others are still being searched for.
The Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes conducted a thorough investigation in this case and achieved significant cooperation with colleagues from the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Serbia, which resulted in an indictment against 10 individuals in BiH. Approximately 2 months ago, an indictment was also filed in Serbia, and proceedings are underway against 5 individuals accused of the crime in Štrpci.
The intensive and professional cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of BiH and Serbia has resulted in the initiation and intensification of investigations and the filing of indictments 22 years after the crime was committed.
The prosecutor's offices of the two countries had the support and good cooperation of the families of the victims of this crime, who have been searching for the truth about their loved ones and their remains for over two decades.

Poluga Obrad, born on October 16, 1971, in Višegrad,
Poluga Novak, born on November 14, 1963, in Višegrad,
Šekarić Dragan, known as “Pive“, born on November 4, 1969, in Goražde,
Krsmanović Oliver, born on August 13, 1963, in Višegrad,
Inđić Petko, born on August 26, 1960, in Višegrad,
Ristić Radojica, known as “Rile“, born on December 21, 1969, in Višegrad,
Ratković Vuk, born on March 14, 1950, in Višegrad,
Jovičić Mićo, known as “Splića“ and „Crni“, born on August 10, 1961, in Vinkovci
The accused are charged that, as members of the Višegrad Brigade of the VRS, as co-perpetrators, violating the rules of international law during an armed conflict, Luka Dragičević ordered, and the other accused carried out, the unlawful abduction and detention, inhumane treatment, infliction of great suffering and violation of physical integrity, and murder of the civilian population, thereby committing the criminal offense of War Crimes against the Civilian Population.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH proposes the hearing of 51 witnesses in the indictment, and more than 100 pieces of evidence have been attached to the indictment.
The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
