ZDK Government's support for non-medical healthcare workers: Negotiations on collective agreement to follow

(Patria) - Representatives of the Independent Union of Non-Medical Healthcare Workers of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) held a meeting today with Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Minister of Health Aida Salčinović.

The meeting was attended, on behalf of the Union, by President Orhan Moćević, President of the Zenica Cantonal Hospital Branch Mirza Smailbegović, and Union member Harun Čolić, who is also a representative in the ZDK Assembly.

During the meeting, the status of non-medical workers in ZDK healthcare institutions was discussed, with a special focus on realizing the right to collective bargaining.

Moćević emphasized that the Prime Minister and the Minister were informed of the Union's acquired representativeness, and that an official request to commence negotiations had been submitted.

- In the coming period, we expect the official start of negotiations for a collective agreement that will apply to non-medical healthcare workers in ZDK.

The Union was founded with the aim of fighting against discrimination of non-medical workers and improving their labor-legal status - Moćević stressed.

Prime Minister Pivić welcomed the activities of the Independent Union of Non-Medical Healthcare Workers of ZDK and their acquisition of representativeness.

- The Government will support the negotiation process and ensure that the rights of non-medical workers in healthcare institutions are respected and improved.

We expect a constructive dialogue that will result in a fair collective agreement - said Prime Minister Pivić.

Minister of Health Salčinović expressed support for the Union's activities.

- We fully support non-medical workers, and in the coming period, we will commence meetings with the new union and prepare the necessary materials to obtain consent from the ZDK Government to begin negotiations - stated Minister Salčinović.
