US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack today expressed support to the Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH (UIO BiH) Miro Džakula for the completion of works on the new customs terminal and the Gradiška border crossing, reports Patria News Agency.
The completion of works on the construction of the new customs terminal and the Gradiška border crossing is expected in the second half of 2016.
Regardless of the construction of the bridge over the Sava River, the existing Gradiška customs office will then be moved from the city center to the location of the new customs terminal, which will be located at the end of the Banja Luka – Gradiška highway. The new customs terminal will be situated on a much larger area, which will be able to accommodate all trucks and will no longer cause major traffic jams and congestion in the center of Gradiška.
In addition, better and higher quality services will be offered to all business entities engaged in foreign trade. The terminal will also have a special, larger complex for detailed and quality inspection of all goods imported into BiH. I remind you that the Gradiška border crossing and customs terminal are the only Category I border crossing in northern BiH, where traffic of all types of goods requiring inspection supervision can be handled.
In 2014 alone, 116,280 customs declarations were processed at the Gradiška customs office, generating revenue from import duties amounting to 438 million KM.
