(Patria) - Nihad Čolpa, a delegate in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitted an initiative to suspend funding of political parties at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina until further notice.
In his explanation, he stated that the funds should be suspended and, through regular parliamentary procedures, redirected as soon as possible to the health of citizens and the liquidity of families whose existence is uncertain due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
"The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina needs drastic measures to save the economy and the liquidity of families. Suspending and redirecting planned funds for political parties is just a drop in the ocean of the FBiH's needs, but in this way we show our responsible attitude towards the crisis and that citizens are a higher priority than political parties," stated the president of the Citizens' Alliance, Nihad Čolpa.
We remind you that from the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton, money was paid to political parties as provided for in the budget. While the fight to save jobs continues and while relief for businesses is awaited during the coronavirus pandemic, such news is not encouraging, regardless of the fact that it is a legal obligation.
