(Patria) - The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office has filed and the Municipal Court in Sarajevo confirmed an indictment against Ajla Čeljo, a labor inspector at the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, for the criminal offense of accepting gifts and other benefits.
She is accused of demanding and accepting money from the owner of a private medical-biochemical laboratory in Sarajevo between January 27, 2022, and January 10, 2023, after conducting an inspection, in order not to issue him a misdemeanor order with a fine. The acting prosecutor proposed to the court to hear six witnesses, an expert for operational-technical surveillance and IT support, and to present more than 60 material evidence items for the main trial.
Also, the acting prosecutor proposed in the indictment that the accused be banned from working in all inspection administrations and law enforcement agencies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for five years after the verdict becomes final.
