Election campaign for the President of Republika Srpska begins

(Patria) - The election campaign for the early presidential elections in Republika Srpska, which will be held on November 23, begins today in the entity of Republika Srpska.

The election campaign lasts until November 22, 7:00 AM, when election silence begins, announced the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH.

The candidates for the President of Republika Srpska are Siniša Karan (SNSD), Branko Blanuša (SDS), Dragan Đokanović (Alliance for New Politics), Nikola Lazarević (Ecological Party of Serbs), and Igor Gašević and Slavko Dragičević (independent candidates).

The elections are expected to cost around 6.4 million KM. An appeal was filed against the tender for the transport of election materials after the selection of bidders. Unofficially, the Appeals Office, which was supposed to resolve this issue, did not complete the work – there was no quorum for holding a session.

The Central voter register was closed on November 3 at midnight and contains slightly more than 1,264,000 voters eligible to vote. All presidents and most deputy polling station committee members at polling stations in Republika Srpska have been appointed.

Polling stations have also been designated abroad – in BiH embassies in Belgrade, Vienna, Berlin, and the consulate in Munich.

Citizens who applied to vote at diplomatic-consular representations, and for whom voting will not be organized, will be able to vote by mail.

SDS will start its election campaign from Banja Luka, and SNSD from Bijeljina. Other candidates have not announced their campaign plans.
