Enrollment in High Schools Begins: Over 4,200 Places in Public and Private Schools in Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - In accordance with the enrollment plan for first-grade students in high schools in Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton today, June 23, 2025, announced the Competition for the enrollment of students in the first grade of high schools.

The enrollment plan provides for a total of 4,212 places in 182 classes in 36 public high schools and 7 private high schools in Sarajevo Canton.

As in previous years, enrollment is conducted online, through the EMIS system, simultaneously for public and private high schools. Students and parents can follow the results daily through an informative ranking list that is regularly updated.

The first application period runs from June 23 to June 27, 2025, and the results will be published on June 27.

In accordance with the Decision on criteria for admitting students to the first grade of high schools in Sarajevo Canton for the 2025/2026 school year, two re-selection periods for schools will be enabled for students who wish to change their school/program choice for online enrollment in the first grade of high schools in Sarajevo Canton:

· First re-selection - June 25 and June 26, 2025,
· Second re-selection (final) - June 27, 2025, until 4:00 PM.

The second application period, intended for schools that do not fill their planned quotas, is scheduled for the period from July 2 to July 4, 2025.

This year, 104 students from outside Sarajevo Canton who previously took the external matriculation exam are also participating in the online enrollment.

The total number of students who will access the enrollment is 4,201.
