Protest of BHRT employees begins: Support given by numerous journalists from other media, citizens, unions...

(Patria) - At the plateau of the institutions of BiH at 10 a.m., the protest of BHRT employees and a special program that will be broadcast until 3 p.m. "Don't turn off BHRT" began.

A large number of BHRT employees, as well as colleagues from other media, came to today's protest to send an appeal for the rescue of BHRT.

The public service of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the most difficult situation since its founding. Its survival depends on the collection of the RTV fee paid by citizens.

According to the Law on the Public RTV System, BHRT is entitled to 50 percent of the collected fee across the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the Federal Television and the Radio-Television of Republika Srpska are each entitled to 25 percent.

RTRS, in 2017, stopped transferring the fee collected in this entity. Since then, the debt to BHRT has reached an amount greater than 100 million KM. This is where BHRT's problems begin.
