Layoffs begin at ZOI '84, a mother on maternity leave left on the street!

Midhat Hubijar, director of ZOI '84, has been issuing termination notices to the employees of this company since this morning, writes the Patria News Agency.

As we previously reported, the list of employees who will be declared redundant in the company has been compiled and has been sitting in Hubijar's drawer since Monday.

Panic has set in among the employees, and as the Patria agency previously reported, Hubijar had been sending employees on annual leave en masse, which is strange considering it is the peak of preparations for the winter season on Igman and Bjelašnica.

As stated by the president of the ZOI '84 Trade Union, Alija Hodžić, the selection of employees for layoffs was carried out by a Commission, but the Trade Union was not informed. So far, seven termination notices have been issued, including one to a mother on maternity leave.

- The legal counsel's advice is not to sign anything. However, the Management does not want to hand over the termination notice until it is signed. What right do they have to issue a termination notice to a woman while she is on maternity leave – says Hodžić.

He further stated that the layoffs are being issued to selected employees who are not close to the SDA and do not have the support of that party.

- We have an example of an electrician who has children and was laid off, while the one who came after him remains in the company – added Hodžić.
