Extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of FBiH begins, MP hour underway

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The fourth extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH has begun in Sarajevo.

DF MP Samer Rešidat proposed an initiative for the FBiH Government to allocate 100,000 KM for the BiH handball team, which qualified for the European Championship. The initiative was adopted with 57 votes in favor, seven abstentions, and five against.

Lana Prlić proposed that the FBiH Government, with the relevant institutions, ensure the closure of the Uborak landfill near Mostar, and that the FBiH Government provide funds. This conclusion did not receive the necessary majority.

Damir Mašić, head of the SDP club, requested a roll-call vote, as he believes some MPs did not fully understand this conclusion.

"I don't understand why someone considers this problematic. We know that Mostar has had a problem for years, and if we are already adopting the budget, I don't see what the problem is," Mašić stated.

The conclusion did not receive the necessary majority this time either. 41 MPs voted in favor, 40 abstained, and 3 voted against.

An MP hour will be held before the agenda.

The election of the new leadership is the first item on the agenda of the fourth extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, which will be held today in Sarajevo.

After the new parliamentary majority elects the leadership of the Parliament of FBiH, MPs are expected to consider the Proposal of the Decision on Amendments and Supplements to the FBiH Budget for 2019 under urgent procedure, and under the same procedure, the Proposal of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Budget Execution of FBiH for this year.

The last item on the agenda will be the Proposal of the Law on the Rights of Demobilized Soldiers and their Families. This bill is also expected to be considered under urgent procedure.
