(Patria) - In the cemetery of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Potočari, the re-exhumation of previously buried incomplete remains began today in order to add bones found in the previous period. A total of 89 graves will be re-exhumed.
This is the 18th time re-exhumation has been carried out, and so far a total of 1536 graves have been re-exhumed. Of these, 70 individuals have been re-exhumed twice, and three individuals three times.
"The biggest problem for us today is the small number of newly discovered mass graves. In the past three years, we have searched 69 locations, five of them this year, but we have found nothing. We ask everyone who has accurate information about graves that have not yet been discovered to contact us," says Sadik Selimović, an investigator at the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Seven individuals have been buried in the cemetery of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Potočari this year. Around a thousand more people killed in the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica in July 1995 are still being searched for.
