Free basketball school for elementary school students from Centar begins

In an effort to enable elementary school students to participate in a variety of sports activities, the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Public Institution "Center for Sport and Recreation", has organized a free basketball school for students from the fifth to the ninth grade of elementary schools in the Centar area for this school year as well. For this purpose, the Municipality has allocated 5,000 marks from this year's budget, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar, writes Patria.

Basketball, as a sports discipline in the physical and health education program of elementary schools, holds a significant place, abounding in natural forms of movement such as running, throwing, catching, jumping...

The goal of the project is to influence the development of a competitive spirit, as well as the strengthening of willpower, persistence, and determination in children through various contents and elements of the basketball game.

The basketball school started on October 3, 2016, and will last until the end of May 2017. Training sessions are held in the gymnasium of Sarajevo's FIS (Mis Irbina 10), twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays from 3 PM to 4 PM, with the professional guidance of physical and health education teachers.
