Dragons' Victory Proves Bosnia and Herzegovina Will Be Missed at the EURO in France!

That it is a real shame that the BiH national football team will not participate in this year's European Championship in France, we proved tonight in Zurich playing against the Swiss team, writes the Patria News Agency. 

The national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina took to the field in its strongest lineup: Asmir Begović - Ognjen Vranješ, Emir Spahić, Ervin Zukanović, Sead Kolašinac - Edin Višća, Miralem Pjanić, Muhamed Bešić, Senad Lulić - Edin Džeko and Vedad Ibišević.

Although it was a friendly match, the Dragons played aggressively from the first minute, and took five corners in the first four minutes.

We had to wait until the 14th minute for a goal, when captain Edin Džeko gave the Dragons the lead.

Great Support from the Stands

Incidentally, the first half was one of the best performances by BiH footballers since Meša Baždarević became coach.

In the second half, the Swiss started much more openly, and missed two good chances to score in the first minutes of the second half. However, Miralem Pjanić increased BiH's lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute with a fantastic free kick.

Coach Baždarević also gave opportunities to Mateo Sušić, Jasmin Burić, Haris Duljević, Anel Hadžić, Edin Cocalić, and Danijel Graovac in the second half.

The Dragons had great support from the stands, and the Swiss coach Vladimir Petković, a native of Sarajevo, knew this, saying before the match that Switzerland would be playing as guests in Zurich. This is because Petković knows very well what kind of fans BiH has.

This match served as preparation for the European Championship for the Swiss, and they will play in Group A along with hosts France, Romania, and Albania.

BiH will play its next friendly match on May 29 against strong Spain.
