Platform for Progress Mostar: Politicians' post-election narratives are not what the people care about

(Patria) - The City Committee of the Platform for Progress Mostar thanks all voters who exercised their right on 20.12., went to the polls in Mostar and thus welcomed the democracy that has finally
come to this city. We especially thank the voters who voted for the Platform for Progress and
the candidates on our lists in the elections. By choosing the Platform for Progress, you have also decided what kind of
Mostar you want. Our politics and our directions are towards a developed, clean, cosmopolitan
city of equal opportunities and rights for all its citizens.

"We conducted our election campaign cleanly and principledly, far from dirty deals and
cheap political points. This is a method that is not common for political parties in Bosnia and
Herzegovina. We were detailed, original, creative, and constructive, with a prepared
program and strategic issues.

We want to be completely clear: the citizens of Mostar are our only coalition! We did not engage in dirty political deals, nor did we want to put the names of those who try to control this city remotely from equipped salons in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Zagreb, Vienna, and many others, over our clean and untainted names.

We did not want to ally ourselves with those who saw the fact that Mostar had no elections for 12 years as an opportunity for personal gain, and thus spared no effort. On election day, they used the dirtiest methods that insult any mention of democracy and the democratic rights of citizens.

We truly want to believe in honest and fair elections. We want to believe that our evidence and prepared materials, which we will send to the competent institutions, are only isolated violations of the electoral process that will ultimately be sanctioned. We believe that only through electronic voting can we ensure fair and honest elections that will reflect the will of the citizens.

We have endured many media attacks, from those who wanted to divert attention from the core of the problem in this way. There are many scars in this city, but also many things that can be a platform for
a better new Mostar. Our approach, proposed solutions, and campaign methods have shown others that it is possible to be different.

We call on future councilors to justify the trust placed in them. It is time to stop playing political games at the expense of this beautiful city. We are convinced that the needs of the people differ from what is being presented as important these days after the elections.

We call on the elected councilors not to adopt the proposed Statute, but to adopt the Statute with amendments that the Platform presented to the public at the beginning of 2020. Mostar is a platform for the progress of the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we must not allow its division!

The Platform for Progress will continue its active work in Mostar in 2021, just as we have done so far. We continue with initiatives, plans, programs, and strategies. If our role is to be a corrective factor in the city's relations, as well as in raising political expectations and political discourse to a new, higher, and more demanding level, we are proud of that role," the statement said.
