Letter to Željana Zovko: You are making a crude forgery that only confirms your intentions towards Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Old Bridge in Mostar, Croatian MEP Željana Zovko, also Vice-President of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, will present in Brussels the "material and immaterial heritage of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina".

European MEP, you are making a shameful, crude forgery that only confirms your intentions towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, say the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada.

"We recommend that you also tell that the Old Bridge was destroyed in a joint criminal enterprise of the Croatian Defence Council and the Croatian Army, as ruled by international courts, as evidenced by the latest footage of the destruction released last year.

Stop your shameful provocations and forgeries. Until you stop, let us remind you of the facts. The Old Bridge is a world cultural heritage site from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and not any Croatian heritage.

Denying the Old Bridge as a world cultural heritage site from Bosnia and Herzegovina is a radically inhumane and utterly vile concept that most damages your reputation because the whole world knows well to whom the Old Bridge belongs.

Precisely because of people like you, today more than ever it is necessary to form and strengthen historical awareness of the Old Bridge as an important Bosnian-Herzegovinian and world cultural heritage. It is also necessary to develop awareness of the Mostar urbicide, which requires that we preserve the memory and that all those responsible for the terrible destruction of the Monument of Peace be prosecuted. The truth is based on the Mostar urbicide, and it maximally narrows the space for all and any current and potential forgeries, manipulations and lies. We have a sacred duty to prevent the reawakening of terrifying criminal spirits.

We will continue to preserve the truth about the Old Bridge exclusively as a world cultural heritage site from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

But not with those who constantly provoke and maliciously, shamefully attack the truth about the Old Bridge, which is on the UNESCO list of protected cultural heritage as one of the most beautiful historic bridges in Europe.

And finally, the Old Bridge as a world cultural heritage site from Bosnia and Herzegovina has the support of the entire normal world, as a world Monument of Peace and a structure that is at the very top of all significant world cultural recommendations. Today, the Old Bridge is one of the greatest cultural and economic potentials of Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina," state the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada.
