Letter from self-isolation: Johnson orders citizens to follow rules

(Patria) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned on Sunday that the 'situation will get worse before it gets better', which is why the government must introduce new restrictions.

The Prime Minister himself has been in self-isolation since Friday after testing positive for the coronavirus, but stressed that he will continue to work on combating the epidemic from home.

In a letter signed by the Prime Minister, which will be sent to every household in Great Britain, it is stated that the isolation rules 'must be respected' and that the police 'will punish' violations.

More than 1,000 people have died in Great Britain, while the number of infected exceeds 17,100.

Elsewhere, the number of deaths worldwide has exceeded 30,000, with 10,023 in Italy alone, which lost 889 of its citizens on Saturday alone as it tries to cope with 92,472 infected.

The percentage growth of new infections is now slowly declining there, from 8.3% on Thursday to 6.9% on Saturday.

In France, more than 2,000 patients have died, and more than 4,200 are in intensive care. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe warned that 'the first 15 days of April will be difficult, even more difficult than the past 15'.

In Spain, 5,690 patients have died, and on Saturday alone, that number was 832.

European countries will extend the isolation and lockdown measures initially set for 14 days, and additional temporary hospitals are being set up, as is already the case in England, where two are already being prepared.

Russia will completely close its borders.

The US, which is certainly the new center of the epidemic, now counts more than 124,600 cases, with 2,185 deaths. New York is the most affected.

On Saturday, the total number of confirmed infections worldwide exceeded 660,000.
