Pilav for NAP: No reason for panic, clusters under constant epidemiological surveillance

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Of the forty employees of the JU Health Center Ilidža who are in self-isolation after the death of patient A.K., one employee was tested after showing certain symptoms, but her test result for coronavirus is negative, confirmed the KS Public Health Institute for Patria.

Regarding the cluster of the company where the deceased A.K. worked, 22 out of 23 employees were tested, and three are infected with coronavirus.

It has not yet been determined how the deceased A.K. was infected, for whom coronavirus was confirmed after death. Her daughter E.K. is also infected with coronavirus, while her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild are negative.

Speaking about another cluster that has appeared, also in Ilidža, where the virus was confirmed in a woman who returned by bus from Turkey and who is hospitalized, it was confirmed that another elderly woman is infected, but she is in home isolation and in constant contact with doctors.

The woman who stayed with the first infected person in the room and socialized intensely was also tested, but she is negative for coronavirus. Epidemiological services are monitoring six women who were in contact.

The director of the KS Public Health Institute, Aida Pilav, told Patria that there is no reason for panic and that first contacts of infected individuals are being monitored.

Citizens who have been in contact with someone infected or have knowledge of such cases are obliged to report to the epidemiological service, and this is considered their duty.

Another problem that is emerging is that infected patients are, in a way, violating the self-isolation measure, so family members are in intense contact with the infected, which opens up the possibility of infecting family members.

The Institute appeals to citizens to adhere to the adopted measures, especially the advice of epidemiologists during isolation or self-isolation.
