Pilav: Woman's condition in Podhrastovi is stable, quarantine for travelers from Italy

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Aida Pilav, director of the KS Public Health Institute and president of the KS Crisis Staff, said that the condition of the woman hospitalized in Podhrastovi, who tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, is stable.

“1,608 people are under health supervision. A total of 63 samples have been tested in KS, of which 10 are positive. Testing has intensified, clusters are being monitored, and health status is being monitored. Testing is done at certain moments of symptom development, such as respiratory problems and fever. We are monitoring changes in health status. In accordance with professional and scientific doctrine, we emphasize that testing on demand will not be performed as negative results may be obtained,” said Pilav.

Those who have been in contact with infected persons should be in contact with epidemiological services.

“The epidemiological situation is under control, and we have closed five clusters. There is no need for panic. We are taking all necessary measures to stop the spread or to ensure the epidemic takes the mildest possible form,” said Pilav.

She noted that today, a health measure of quarantine will be implemented for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina arriving from Italy, about a hundred of them who will land at Sarajevo International Airport.

“This public health measure is significant because we have a risk and their complete isolation is necessary. The quarantine measure is being imposed in this way for the first time. Their transfer to a designated facility where a hygienic-epidemiological assessment will be conducted. From disinfection of luggage space, their epidemiological surveys, and measures, it is imposed for a period of 28 days. We will have more information about this tomorrow,” said Pilav.
